Targeted grazing research and outreach
“Targeted grazing prescriptions optimize the timing, frequency, intensity, and selectivity of grazing (or browsing) in combinations that purposely exert grazing/browsing pressure on specific plant species or portions of the landscape.”
- Bailey et al. 2019 Rangeland Ecology and Management
We are examining the use of targeted grazing as an adaptive practice to manage invasive plants and wildfire fuels on public lands. Our approach incorporates both ecological and social dimensions of this practice. We have a particular focus on the role of sheep and a commitment to outreach and education about our findings.
